Powertech Labs tour Oct 10
Join us for an
exclusive tour of Powertech Labs in Surrey on the evening of Wednesday, October
10, map attached.
No safety wear is required. Pizza, veggies and beverages will
be provided.

We will be touring Powertech’s High Voltage Lab, in which they perform testing on insulators, bushings, switchgear, circuit breakers, power cables, and many other types of high voltage equipment. Extensive capabilities provide testing with DC voltage up to 1000 kV, 60 Hz AC voltage up to 800 kV, and impulse voltage up to 3200 kV.
Powertech is an industry
leader in design verification testing of hydrogen vehicle fuel systems, and
provides engineering, consulting, and testing services for the electric vehicle
industry. We will have a look at some high pressure hydrogen test facilities and
hear about the latest innovations in electric
vehicles.
Powertech’s Materials Engineering
department performs mechanical testing on materials and components, and conducts
failure analyses on mechanical components. On the tour, we will have a look at
some of the analytical instruments, and discuss some recent
projects.
